Aging in a Digital World Conference, April 1-2

Join UC Davis Health, CITRIS and the Banatao Institute, and the Transatlantic Telehealth Research Network for the Aging in a Digital World Conference on April 1-2, 2020 at Betty Irene Moore Hall, 2570 48th St., Room 1000.
The two-day conference brings together international thought leaders in aging, technology, and health care policy research, with the common goal of identifying gaps in these areas that delay the adoption of innovations to support aging in a digital world.
Keynote speaker Eleni Kounalakis, Lieutenant Governor of California, will discuss California’s commitment to care for an aging population.

This interactive forum and networking opportunity will focus on:
- Understanding the current challenges of implementing new models of health promotion and care for older adults and family caregivers.
- Exploring novel methods for connecting clinical research and tech innovation.

2020 Call for Proposals: CITRIS Seed Funding now accepting applications!
The CITRIS Seed Funding Program invites Principal Investigators at UC Berkeley, UC Davis, UC Davis Health, UC Merced, and UC Santa Cruz to apply for seed funding that advances CITRIS and the Banatao Institute’s research thrusts, strengthens UC campus connections, and drives novel technology applications.
- $500,000 in awards available
- $40,000 to $60,000 per project
- Funded projects have attracted more than $60 million in follow-on support from federal, state, industrial, and private sources including the NSF, NIH, DOE, Intel, Microsoft, Mellon Foundation, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

CITRIS Tech For Social Good Program – Faculty and Staff Info Session

This Fall term, CITRIS and the Banatao Institute and co-sponsor the Institute for Social Transformation are launching a new program, Tech for Social Good (TSG), to sponsor student research projects and events here on UC Santa Cruz campus.
All faculty and staff are invited to an information session on September 18th from 4:00 to 5:00 pm in Baskin Engineering 2, room 180. The purpose of the session is to give you a clear understanding of the program in order to promote and encourage your students to apply – we’ll also have coffee and snacks. TSG is open to teams of graduate and undergraduate students and has two competitive tracks, one that supports technology development and the second to support student-led events on campus. Through the technology track, students can apply for funding of $500 – $5,000 for tech-focused projects that promote social good by supporting healthy, sustainable, prosperous, and equitable livelihoods in the United States and abroad. Through the events track we provide between $200 – $1,000 for UC Santa Cruz individual students, student organizations or student groups to develop events or programming that improve and support technological innovations that support healthy, sustainable, and connected communities.
TSG is a program that CITRIS has successfully run on the UC Berkeley and Davis campuses for several years, funding and supporting a wide range of successful student-led projects and events – examples of which you can review here:
